Job Summary

US Foods, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced District Sales Manager to lead a team of Territory Managers in achieving sales objectives and driving business growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a Team of Sales Professionals: Direct and coach a team of Territory Managers to achieve sales targets, develop sales strategies, and provide guidance on customer relationships.
  • Develop and Execute Sales Plans: Research, develop, and maintain long- and short-range sales plans, including sales forecasts, customer penetration, and churn reduction objectives.
  • Coach and Develop Sales Team Members: Provide regular coaching and feedback to Territory Managers to improve their sales skills, customer relationships, and overall performance.
  • Manage Sales Operations: Oversee the administration of sales-related expenses, credits, donations, and contracts, and track performance against sales plans.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with Sales Coordinators, Restaurant Operations Consultants, Menu Analysts, Culinary Specialists, Customer Solutions Coordinators, and other stakeholders to drive sales growth and customer satisfaction.
  • Communicate Sales Data and Insights: Analyze sales data to inform sales strategies, product development, and marketing initiatives.
  • Recruit, Train, and Mentor Sales Team Members: Recruit, train, and mentor new hires and existing Territory Managers to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in their roles.
  • Manage Sales Performance and Accountability: Oversee the performance of Territory Managers, identify areas for improvement, and implement performance improvement or disciplinary measures as needed.
  • Stay Up-to-Date on Industry Trends and Developments: Maintain current knowledge of industry trends, product developments, and customer needs to inform sales strategies and product offerings.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sales and Marketing, or a related field.
  • Experience: A minimum of five years of foodservice sales experience and two years of supervisory experience.
  • Skills: Demonstrated problem-solving and negotiation skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, customer service and presentation abilities, and proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office products.
