Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Materials Testing Specialist to join our team at Hillis-Carnes. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing construction materials testing services for commercial land development projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate construction materials testing services for commercial land development projects
  • Supervise and direct technician staff for earthwork, concrete, foundation, masonry, steel, EIFS, fireproofing, and pavement construction testing
  • Prepare and submit bids and proposals for construction materials testing services
  • Perform on-site project inspections, including soil bearing and compaction tests, concrete, fireproofing, and wood framing
  • Meet with clients and attend site meetings to discuss project progress and requirements
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Geology
  • 3-5 years of experience in Geotechnical Engineering or Construction Project Management
  • Registered Professional Engineer preferred but not required
  • Experience managing construction projects of varying size
  • Experience estimating labor requirements for various types of construction projects
  • Business development experience and ability to interact with clients
  • Experience managing construction staff and specialty construction testing certifications
  • Ability to perform other duties as required to assist the Branch Manager in running a successful operation
