Job Summary

Brigham and Women's Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Practice Assistant II to join our team. As a Practice Assistant II, you will play a critical role in supporting the daily operations of our primary care practice, ensuring seamless patient care and exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to the practice team, including scheduling, registration, and billing.
  • Act as a super user for scheduling, registration, and billing systems, providing training and assistance to others as needed.
  • Perform more complex or specialized functions, such as radiology scheduling, at a high level of competency.
  • Utilize knowledge of HMOs, managed care, and other third-party insurers to troubleshoot insurance issues.
  • Assist with training and orienting staff as needed.
  • Provide cross-coverage as needed, working collaboratively with other practices within the Brigham team.
  • Participate in process improvement groups and contribute to the development of new procedures and protocols.
Requirements
  • Minimum of High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 1 year applicable work experience required.
  • Some additional training in office systems or other post-high school education preferred.
  • Ambulatory care experience a plus, but not required.
