Job Overview

The Electrical Operations Supervisor will oversee a team of Electrical Process Technicians within a manufacturing setting. Collaborating closely with the Engineering Manager, you will ensure optimal performance across all operational facets. This role encompasses all electrical responsibilities related to facility maintenance and enhancements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure safe working practices in an industrial setting, including the creation of risk assessment and method statement documentation. Apply functional machinery and process safety principles.
  • Produce and interpret various technical documents such as device manuals, operating procedures, schematics, and fault reports.
  • Support installation, commissioning, shutdown, startup, and maintenance of diverse systems and devices.
  • Utilize formal problem-solving methods and diagnostic tools/software for troubleshooting, diagnosis, rectification, and reporting of automation control systems.
  • Configure and calibrate instrumentation, setting up a variety of field-level instruments that interface with automation and control systems.
  • Assist in the configuration and ongoing support of industrial network solutions across all levels of control system integration.
  • Modify existing HMI systems or implement new configurations as needed.
  • Implement complex PLC program content and configurations, preferably with Rockwell systems, to enhance the efficiency of automation-controlled machinery.
  • Install and troubleshoot facility power distribution and lighting systems.
  • Wire, assemble, and layout electrical/electronic systems with precision and professionalism.
  • Possess the ability to operate forklifts and scissor/boom lifts as required.
  • Perform general electrical tasks, including conduit installation, wire sizing, and construction activities.
  • Demonstrate endurance to complete tasks over extended periods.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, practices, and standards of conduct as outlined in the operational manuals.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience as an Electrical Operations Supervisor or in a leadership role with Electrical Technicians.
  • Understanding of safety protocols necessary for working with automation equipment in an industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical safety circuits and systems.
  • Familiarity with mathematical principles and theories relevant to engineering.
  • Comprehension of electrical and electronic circuits and devices.
  • Experience with single-phase and three-phase circuits.
  • Knowledge of AC and DC motor and control circuits.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Experience using basic hand and power tools.
  • Familiarity with ladder logic programming.
  • Automation expertise, preferably with Rockwell systems, including PLCs, VSDs, HMIs, and related hardware/software tools.
  • Instrumentation knowledge for measuring flow, temperature, pressure, etc., and understanding of data transmission methods.
  • Proficient in software tools for hardware configuration changes, firmware updates, and commissioning tasks.
  • Understanding of industrial networking applications, installations, and operational characteristics.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance principles to ensure consistency and enhancement in manufacturing and process applications.
  • Thorough understanding of the operating principles of all assigned equipment.
