In this pivotal role, you will guide and support our Electrical Field Service Technicians (FSTs), ensuring all electrical service engagements are executed efficiently and effectively while upholding our commitment to exceptional service quality. You will maintain ongoing communication with technicians throughout their assignments to guarantee successful outcomes.
Core Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Cultivate the skills of service technicians, enhancing their customer engagement abilities and technical expertise in line with our competency framework.
- Task Coordination: Work closely with the Electrical Field Service Coordinator to prioritize and manage assignments, including upgrades, installations, and service requests. Address scheduling conflicts to facilitate seamless operations.
- Effective Communication: Keep the Field Service Manager and clients informed of any potential issues, collaborating to devise effective solutions.
- Safety and Regulatory Compliance: Foster a robust safety culture by enforcing safety protocols among technicians and clients. Utilize insights from near-miss incidents to enhance safety measures.
- Resource Allocation: Ensure technicians have access to the essential tools, personal protective equipment (PPE), software, and resources necessary for their roles. Streamline reporting tools for efficiency and accuracy. Oversee the recruitment process, including resume evaluations, interviews, job offer negotiations, and terminations when required. Conduct performance evaluations for employees.
- Professional Development: Continuously improve technician capabilities by advancing their skills within our competency framework.
- Process Enhancement: Identify and implement improvements and efficiencies within Field Service operations.
- Interdepartmental Collaboration: Promote effective communication and teamwork among internal departments, including Helpdesk, Engineering, and Spare Parts, to meet customer needs and organizational goals.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree in a technical field or equivalent relevant experience preferred.
- A minimum of five years in a supervisory or lead role within maintenance.
- Demonstrated leadership and management abilities with a focus on motivating and empowering team members.
- Capability to juggle multiple priorities and perform under pressure in a dynamic environment.
- Strong communication skills for professional interactions with clients and senior management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Ability to work autonomously without direct oversight.
