Position Responsibilities

The Quality Engineer will oversee customer complaint management, process customer returns, provide manufacturing support, and facilitate internal and external customer assistance. This role requires collaboration across various departments, including Manufacturing, Engineering, Purchasing, Logistics, and Project Management, to establish, implement, and enhance the quality of our Gasoline System Products.

  • Manage customer complaints effectively
  • Provide technical support to resolve production capability issues and defects
  • Collaborate with customer representatives to address functional challenges and identify areas for improvement
  • Work closely with production teams to enhance machining and assembly processes
  • Utilize and promote effective system/process improvement tools (SPC, FMEA, MSA, 8D, PDCA, CIP, etc.) within the Charleston Plant Team
  • Implement automated solutions where applicable
  • Complete necessary customer quality documentation, including failure analysis and corrective action reports
  • Support engineering efforts for auditing, measuring, and testing equipment
  • Engage successfully within cross-functional teams to meet business objectives
  • Independently manage departmental projects aimed at improving cost and quality
  • Demonstrate self-sufficiency in task management:
  • Focus on goals and results
  • Adopt structured approaches for complex tasks
  • Coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering or a closely related field is required
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in an automotive manufacturing environment is preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for preparing and delivering presentations
  • Able to interface with all organizational levels and collaborate with product testing technicians
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Proficient in team facilitation and motivating individuals towards improvement projects
  • Proven ability to act as a change agent within the organization
  • Advanced computer skills, including MS Office, SAP, and statistical software (Tableau, Power BI, Visual Basic skills are a plus)
