Job Summary

The Volunteer Program Coordinator plays a vital role in integrating volunteers into the healthcare team at Cook Children's Medical Center. This position is responsible for implementing processes for volunteer recruitment, screening, interviewing, training, placement, recognition, retention, discipline, evaluation, and termination.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective volunteer recruitment strategies to meet the needs of the medical center.
  • Conduct thorough interviews and screenings to ensure volunteers are a good fit for the organization.
  • Provide comprehensive training and orientation to new volunteers, ensuring they understand their roles and responsibilities.
  • Place volunteers in positions that align with their skills and interests, maximizing their impact on the medical center.
  • Recognize and reward volunteers for their contributions, fostering a sense of community and appreciation.
  • Evaluate volunteer performance and provide constructive feedback to improve their experience.
  • Terminate volunteer relationships as necessary, ensuring a smooth transition.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Minimum three years' experience as a Volunteer Coordinator.
  • Experience with Volgistics, Volunteer Works, or similar database preferred.
  • CVA or CAVS certification preferred.
