POSITION OBJECTIVE:

The Project Manager for Network Solutions is an essential member of the Information Technology team, primarily tasked with collaborating with key business and IT leaders to deliver comprehensive network and telecommunication services that support crucial business operations and applications across the organization.

This role demands proficiency in managing network and telecommunications operations, including data centers, networking, cybersecurity, compliance, and associated services.

Maintaining relationships with external network and telecommunication service providers is a critical aspect of this position.

As a pivotal part of the IT department, this role aids in shaping and executing the enterprise-wide IT strategy, ensuring that the network and telecommunications strategy aligns with and enhances business value.

Delivering exceptional customer service across the organization is paramount, with a focus on system availability, performance, reliability, security, and adherence to service level agreements.


IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE:
To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate proficiency in the essential functions outlined below. The qualifications listed are indicative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required.

Experience
* Minimum of 5 years in Network Engineering/Architecture.
* At least 3 years in IT support.
* 2 years of experience with Cisco support is advantageous.

  • Extensive hands-on experience configuring Cisco products and other communication systems in a global enterprise context.
  • Proficient in the installation, configuration, and management of routers, switches, and wireless devices.
  • Broad experience in networking tasks, including planning, design, testing, integration, and deployment of secure, high-speed voice, data, and video networks.
  • Network certification (CCNP/CCIE) or equivalent experience is preferred, along with a comprehensive understanding of various systems, network, and security practices.
  • Solid knowledge of all aspects of IT infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with common security vulnerabilities and mitigation strategies.
  • Experience with infrastructure management tools.
  • Practical experience with virtualization platforms: VMWare, Citrix.
  • Proficient with Microsoft servers and Active Directory.
  • Experience with cloud services: Office 365, SSO, AWS, or Azure.
  • Knowledge of networking, cloud, server, storage, and client technologies: (SAN, VSAN, IaaS, automation, backup, business continuity, disaster recovery, ITSMS, VoIP, LAN, WAN, SDWAN, clients, mobile, video, VDI, and SBC).

  • Robust business acumen, including industry-specific knowledge of the enterprise and its divisions.

  • Awareness of current and emerging network and telecom technologies and their application in enterprises.
  • Knowledge of how to leverage network and telecom capabilities to meet regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Expertise in enhancing infrastructure operations and implementing best practices (ITIL).
Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide technical guidance for all network and telecom projects to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Engage in the development of IT architecture, technology roadmaps, and governance related to comprehensive systems modernization.
Establish a clear direction for core technologies, including networking, cloud, server, storage, and client technologies:
(SAN, VSAN, IaaS, automation, backup, business continuity, disaster recovery, ITSMS, VoIP, LAN, WAN, SDWAN, clients, mobile, video, VDI, and SBC)

  • Continuously monitor and enhance customer satisfaction and service delivery.
  • Participate in the design, planning, implementation, and maintenance of network and telecommunication services that support company operations and applications.
  • Set appropriate service levels and processes to ensure KPIs are achieved.
  • Oversee root cause analysis for incidents, including problem tracking, RCA templates, post-mortems, and action item follow-up, along with monthly metrics.
  • Define, develop, and manage a comprehensive ITSM landscape based on best practices and related tools.
  • Provide insights on emerging technologies to be integrated into network and telecom products and services to effectively deliver the overall IT strategy.
  • Support the formulation of a network and telecom sourcing strategy and oversee strategic vendor and partner relationship management.
  • Participate in IT planning and policymaking committees; contribute to the development of enterprise technology standards, governance processes, and performance metrics.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • This position typically does not involve supervisory responsibilities.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Working Conditions:
  • Primarily operates in an office setting, with occasional exposure to manufacturing or distribution environments. Noise levels are generally moderate.
  • Physical Tasks:
  • Regularly required to sit, talk, or hear. Frequently uses hands for tasks and reaches with arms. Occasionally required to stand and walk. Lifting requirements are usually less than 20 pounds infrequently.
  • Equipment Used:
  • Utilizes computers, software, hardware, telephones, and other necessary equipment. May work in a computer room environment where servers and systems are located. Noise levels are typically moderate.
  • Reports to: Manager, Network - Telecom Services
  • Travel Requirements:
  • Travel is generally not required for this position.
