POSITION OBJECTIVE:
The Project Leader for Network Solutions is an essential member of the Information Technology team, primarily tasked with collaborating with key business and IT leaders to deliver comprehensive network and telecommunication services that support critical business operations and applications across the organization.
This role necessitates proficiency in managing the operations and support of network and telecommunications functions, encompassing data centers, networking, telecommunications, cybersecurity, compliance, and associated services.
Maintaining relationships with external network and telecommunication providers is a crucial aspect of this position.
As a vital contributor to the IT department, this role aids in the formulation and execution of the enterprise-wide IT strategy, ensuring that the network and telecommunications strategy is effectively aligned to deliver significant business value.
Providing exceptional customer service across the organization is paramount, with a primary focus on system availability, performance, reliability, security, and adherence to established service level metrics.
IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE:
To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate proficiency in the essential functions outlined below. The qualifications listed are indicative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required.
Experience
* Over 5 years of experience in Network Engineering/Architecture.
* At least 3 years in IT support.
* A minimum of 2 years in Cisco support is advantageous.
- Extensive hands-on experience in configuring Cisco products and other communication equipment in a global enterprise setting.
- Experience in the installation, configuration, and management of routers, switches, and wireless devices.
- Broad experience in networking tasks, including planning, design, testing, integration, and deployment of high-speed, secure, and resilient voice, data, and video networks.
- Network certification (CCNP/CCIE) or equivalent experience is preferred, along with a comprehensive understanding of various system, network, and security practices.
- Knowledge of all aspects of IT infrastructure is essential.
- Familiarity with common security vulnerabilities and mitigation strategies.
- Experience with infrastructure management tools.
- Hands-on experience with virtualization platforms such as VMWare and Citrix.
- Experience with Microsoft servers and Active Directory.
- Familiarity with cloud-based services including Office 365, SSO, AWS, or Azure.
- Experience with networking, cloud, server, storage, and client technologies, including SAN, VSAN, IaaS, automation, backup, business continuity, disaster recovery, ITSMS, VoIP, LAN, WAN, SDWAN, clients, mobile, video, VDI, and SBC.
- Strong influencing and negotiation skills in environments where resources for success may not be directly controlled.
- Excellent analytical, strategic conceptual thinking, strategic planning, and execution capabilities.
- Robust business acumen, including industry-specific knowledge of the enterprise and its business units.
- Able to build consensus, make decisions based on multiple variables, and garner support for significant initiatives.
- Strong ethical standards and a commitment to achieving important goals.
- Understanding of current and emerging network and telecom technologies and practices, and their application in other enterprises.
- Knowledgeable in applying network and telecom capabilities to meet regulatory compliance requirements.
- Expertise in enhancing infrastructure operations and related practices (e.g., ITIL).
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provide technical input for all network and telecom projects to ensure alignment with the overall strategic direction.
- Engage in the development of IT architecture, technology roadmap, and governance related to comprehensive systems modernization strategies.
(SAN, VSAN, IaaS, automation, backup, business continuity, disaster recovery, ITSMS, VoIP, LAN, WAN, SDWAN, clients, mobile, video, VDI, and SBC)
- Monitor and enhance customer satisfaction and service delivery management.
- Participate in the design, planning, implementation, and maintenance of network and telecommunication services that support the company's operations and business applications.
- Establish appropriate service levels and processes to ensure that KPIs are met.
- Oversee root cause analysis for related incidents, including problem tracking, RCA templates, post-mortems, and action item follow-up, along with monthly metrics.
- Define, develop, and manage a comprehensive ITSM landscape based on best practices and related toolsets.
- Provide insights on emerging technologies to be integrated into network and telecom products and services to successfully deliver the overall IT strategy.
- Support the development of a network and telecom sourcing strategy and oversee strategic vendor and partner relationship management.
- Participate in IT planning and policymaking committees; contribute to the development of enterprise technology standards, governance processes, and performance metrics.
- Supervisory Responsibilities:
- This position typically does not have supervisory responsibilities.

- This role typically operates in an office environment or occasionally on or around the manufacturing or distribution floor, with a moderate noise level.
- Physical Tasks:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and communicate. The employee frequently uses hands to manipulate and reach with hands and arms. Occasional standing and walking may be required. Lifting requirements are typically less than 20 pounds on an infrequent basis.
