Position Overview:

The Dining Service Associate plays a crucial role in enhancing the dining experience for residents by delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere in the dining areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take and accurately record food orders, ensuring timely and courteous service to residents, their families, and guests.
  • Assist residents with menu selections and dietary needs as required.
  • Exhibit proper dining etiquette while serving, including clearing tables and resetting for the next course.
  • Monitor resident attendance during meal times and communicate relevant information to the appropriate personnel.
  • Welcome and seat residents, making efforts to integrate newcomers into the community.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of dining areas, adhering to all food handling policies.
  • Display professionalism and friendliness in all interactions with residents, team members, and visitors.
  • Support community marketing initiatives through positive engagement and professional appearance.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors to ensure a smooth dining operation.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in food service is preferred, but a willingness to learn is essential.
  • Must be at least 18 years old or possess the necessary work permits.
  • Clear background checks as mandated by regulatory standards.
  • Completion of a health screening and provision of recent TB test results.
  • Basic math skills for tracking meals and resident attendance.
  • Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to operate standard dining service equipment.
  • Commitment to minimizing waste and using resources responsibly.
  • Professional demeanor when interacting with residents, families, and staff.
  • Completion of required training programs.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as bending, lifting, and moving throughout the facility.
  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing over 40 pounds.
