Position Overview

Salary Range: $80,000 - $104,000.00

The Information Security Operations Monitoring Supervisor is recognized as a Security subject matter expert (SME) and a pivotal leader within the IT division. This role is accountable for guiding the Monitoring team, addressing significant initiatives affecting this team, and acting as a liaison for project teams requiring security advice or direction. Additionally, the supervisor will lead system analysts in efficiently monitoring and addressing alerts, devising and executing technical solutions, while ensuring adherence to ABC policies and standards. The supervisor will also play a crucial role as a member of the Computer Incident Response Team (CIRT).

Performance Management

Ensure compliance with performance planning and evaluation systems, completing evaluations by established deadlines with appropriate documentation. Identification and Response

Analyze and respond to security monitoring alerts and credible reported incidents in accordance with incident handling procedures, assigning remediation tasks, ensuring follow-through, and providing management reports. Act as an escalation point and incident response manager to keep stakeholders informed. Team Leadership, Planning, and Organization

Provide hands-on leadership to ensure security standards are applied across all ABC environments, including solution design, configuration, implementation, troubleshooting, research, and optimization. Monitor team performance and objectives, creating primary and secondary solutions to ensure timely completion in alignment with milestones. Evaluate candidates for open positions on the monitoring team. Review and approve the work of other monitoring analysts. Utilize time effectively to enhance productivity. Consistently meet established milestones and business objectives. Manage workload to prioritize key tasks. Communication

Keep colleagues and stakeholders updated on the status of efforts or incidents. Demonstrate objectivity and openness to diverse perspectives. Participate in hiring decisions as needed to assess candidates' technical and communication abilities. Provide management with input regarding improvements, status updates, and necessary changes. Organizational Support

Collaborate as a key member of project teams to provide ongoing support for projects requiring security expertise. Ensure InfoSec requirements are integrated into key projects where applicable. Information Security Officer (ISO) Assistance

Review existing and proposed ABC policies and relevant security frameworks, offering suggestions for enhancements to bolster security and facilitate business operations. Audit and Security Assessment Support

Coordinate and execute audit actions as required to assess compliance with security evaluations, third-party reviews, and industry best practices. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Proven experience in managing and mentoring a team of technical professionals. Proficiency in Windows and Linux environments. Expertise in Active Directory security configuration. Familiarity with Azure and Azure AD. Experience with monitoring/alerting and intrusion detection systems. Knowledge of disaster recovery, networking protocols, and encryption. Experience in firewall configuration management. Background in incident response. Familiarity with NIST 800-53 standards. Relevant industry certifications in Security, Incident Response, Penetration Testing, Digital Forensics, etc. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Advanced industry certifications in Security, Incident Response, Penetration Testing, Digital Forensics, etc. Educational background - Master's Degree in Information Technology or a related field. Experience in leading and mentoring teams. Experience in monitoring environments for active threats. Educational background - degree in Information Systems or a related field.
