Job Overview

Position Summary

The Financial Operations Supervisor plays a crucial role in collaborating with the Operations Manager to guarantee precise reporting of the financial performance of the business unit on a daily basis. This position is responsible for overseeing all accounting functions and guiding the departmental staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage accounts receivable, accounts payable, and daily financial transactions to ensure accurate financial statement balances.
  • Prepare and maintain various monthly and quarterly financial and non-financial data spreadsheets, reporting to relevant stakeholders.
  • Reconcile sub-ledgers and transactions with general ledger accounts, promptly investigating and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes for income statements and balance sheets, including account reconciliations and general ledger analysis.
  • Generate cash-flow reports, assessing cash requirements on a weekly and monthly basis, while managing daily cash operations.
  • Conduct maintenance and comparative analysis against the annual budget and interim forecasts.
  • Verify monthly inventory counts to ensure accurate perpetual inventory records.
  • Engage proactively with supervisors, business unit management, and senior leadership to provide a clear and accurate overview of the financial performance of the business unit.
  • Enhance efficiencies, organize workflows, and automate processes through system improvements.
  • Comply with corporate policies and procedures.
  • Identify opportunities and provide insights to key inquiries.
  • Other duties as assigned by leadership.

Qualifications and Educational Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience is required.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is mandatory.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), with a strong emphasis on Excel.
  • Familiarity with accounting software is essential.

Work Environment

  • This position operates in both a professional office and warehouse environment.
  • The individual will spend extended periods sitting and using office equipment and computers, which may lead to muscle strain. Must be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
