Position Overview

The Financial Operations Supervisor plays a crucial role in collaborating with the Operations Manager to guarantee precise reporting of the financial performance of the business unit on a daily basis. This position is responsible for overseeing all accounting functions and guiding the departmental team.

Core Responsibilities
  • Manage accounts receivable, accounts payable, and daily financial transactions to ensure that financial statements reflect accurate balances.
  • Prepare and maintain various monthly and quarterly financial and non-financial data spreadsheets, reporting to relevant stakeholders.
  • Reconcile sub-ledgers and transactions, ensuring timely research and resolution of any discrepancies with general ledger accounts.
  • Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes for income statements and balance sheets, including account reconciliations and general ledger analysis.
  • Generate cash-flow reports, assessing cash requirements on a weekly and monthly basis, while managing daily cash operations.
  • Conduct maintenance and comparative analysis against the annual budget and interim forecasts.
  • Review and verify monthly inventory counts to accurately assess perpetual inventory levels.
  • Engage proactively with supervisors, business unit management, and senior leadership to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the business unit's financial performance.
  • Enhance efficiencies, streamline work processes, and implement automation through system improvements.
  • Comply with corporate policies and procedures.
  • Identify opportunities and provide insights to key financial questions.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by leadership.

  • Experience in a manufacturing setting is advantageous.
Qualifications and Education Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess:
  • A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), with advanced skills in Excel.
  • A strong familiarity with accounting software.
Work Environment
  • This position operates in both a professional office and a warehouse environment.
  • The individual will spend extended periods sitting and using office equipment and computers, which may lead to muscle strain. The ability to lift up to 50 lbs is required.
