Job Overview

We are looking for a Corporate Banking Relationship Executive to fill a direct hire position with our client. The compensation will be commensurate with experience level.

Key Responsibilities:

The primary objective of this role is to implement the Branch's business development strategy by establishing new lending and deposit relationships in various sectors, including:

  • Commercial & Industrial (C&I), with a focus on asset-based lending (ABL) and equipment financing (EF)
  • Project financing
  • Subscription and fund financing

This role also involves enhancing existing relationships and cross-selling Network products to both clients and prospects. The successful candidate will be responsible for drafting and compiling credit proposals, assessing and maintaining the credit quality of assigned accounts, and recommending corrective actions when necessary.

Portfolio Management:

• Develop and nurture relationships to identify new business opportunities in the specified areas.

• Conduct thorough loan underwriting: evaluate the creditworthiness of potential borrowers through detailed analysis and modeling of their financial and operational strengths and weaknesses, including leverage, key risk factors, cash flow, repayment sources, debt service capacity, industry standing, and adherence to the Bank's credit policies.

• Oversee the submission of credit proposals to the Credit Committee.

• Negotiate terms and credit documentation for new transactions and modifications to existing agreements.

• Maintain strong relationships with key deal sources to foster new business opportunities.

Client Relationship Management:

• Manage a portfolio of clients by continuously monitoring their operational performance, credit profile stability, loan repayments, and compliance with agreements.

• Perform initial and ongoing due diligence as required by policies and procedures to accurately assess operations and identify potential risks.

• Prepare credit reviews and amendment requests as necessary.

• Establish appropriate internal risk ratings for clients and make timely adjustments throughout the credit lifecycle.

• Take responsibility for all aspects of individual transactions and portfolio accounts, ensuring comprehensive oversight of the total relationship.

• Engage with auditors and regulators regarding the loan portfolio.

Qualifications:

• A bachelor's degree is required; an MBA is preferred.

• Experience in credit analysis at a major bank, with a minimum of 10 years in commercial banking, including management of a complex portfolio of accounts.

• Strong skills in credit and relationship management, along with transaction experience.

• Proficiency in PC applications, including word processing and Excel.

• A strong work ethic, analytical skills, attention to detail, critical thinking, effective communication, initiative, resourcefulness, and a team-oriented mindset.

• Stay updated on regulations, industry trends, current practices, new developments, and applicable laws.
