JOB SUMMARY

The Clinical Training Specialist - RN is tasked with working alongside various organizational departments to pinpoint and execute training initiatives related to STAR+PLUS. This role involves facilitating essential components of Service Coordination training while ensuring that relevant policies and procedures are effectively integrated into training materials.

The clinical trainer will act as a subject matter expert when necessary, contributing to the creation of new training programs and the revision of existing content to adapt to evolving business requirements. It is essential for the clinical trainer to collaborate with relevant departments to outline training plans and schedules, develop targeted training tailored to specific roles, and conduct skills assessments.

As a clinical member of the Learning & Development team, the individual will manage learning delivery and/or program/project management office (PMO) functions. This will facilitate the implementation of effective and innovative programs that align with the Learning & Development strategy to achieve desired business outcomes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Collaborate with Medical Affairs leadership and subject matter experts to formulate a strategic approach for STAR+PLUS Service Coordination training.

- Develop a comprehensive training plan that adheres to contractual obligations as mandated by federal and state regulations.

- Work with Medical Affairs leadership to ensure that necessary regulatory assessments are conducted.

- Analyze findings from tests and audits related to assessments, documentation, authorizations, and other Service Coordination responsibilities to identify trends that influence best practices within the organization.

- Continuously assess training effectiveness through evaluations, feedback, and performance metrics.

- Provide ongoing support to program staff, offering guidance and resources for continuous professional development.

- Facilitate both in-person and virtual training sessions, incorporating interactive elements to enhance participant engagement through current technology.

- Collaborate with other Learning and Development team members to ensure that new and existing employees comprehend the life cycle of STAR+PLUS members across all departments and establish or update role-specific training as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Education/Specialized Training/Licensure: RN, RUG Certification required.

- Preferred: BSN, Person Centered Training Instructor.

- Work Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years in a managed care health plan as a service coordinator and at least 3-5 years in training, precepting, or coaching within STAR+PLUS Service Coordination.

- Experience in Auditing, Utilization Management, and Level 1 Service Coordination, along with clinical program development.

- Management Experience: Not applicable.

- Software Proficiencies: Microsoft (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel), Articulate, Canva, Rise 360, Camtasia.
