JOB SUMMARY

The Clinical Training Development Specialist - RN is tasked with partnering with various divisions within the organization to identify and execute training initiatives pertinent to STAR+PLUS. This role involves facilitating essential components of Service Coordination training and ensuring that relevant policies and procedures are integrated into training materials.

The specialist will act as a subject matter expert when necessary, contributing to the creation of new training programs and the revision of existing content to adapt to evolving business requirements. It is crucial for the specialist to work alongside relevant departments to outline training strategies and schedules, develop targeted and role-specific training, and perform skills assessments.

As a clinical member of the Learning & Development team, you will take on responsibilities related to learning delivery and/or program/project management office (PMO) oversight. This will foster effective and innovative programs that align with the Learning & Development strategy to meet desired business objectives.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS AND CORE COMPETENCIES

Work collaboratively with Medical Affairs leadership and subject matter experts to formulate a strategic approach for STAR+PLUS Service Coordination training. This position is accountable for crafting a comprehensive training plan that adheres to contractual obligations as mandated by federal and state regulations.

Engage with Medical Affairs leadership to ensure that required regulatory assessments are conducted. Analyze findings from tests and audits related to assessments, documentation, authorizations, and other Service Coordination responsibilities to identify trends that influence best practices within the organization.

Continuously assess training effectiveness through evaluations, feedback, and performance metrics.

Provide ongoing assistance to program staff, offering guidance and resources for continuous professional development. Facilitate both in-person and virtual training sessions, incorporating interactive elements to boost participant engagement using contemporary technology.

Collaborate with other members of the Learning and Development team to enhance new and existing employees' understanding of the STAR+PLUS member lifecycle across various departments and to establish or update role-specific training as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Specialized Training/Licensure: RN, RUG Certification required. BSN and Person Centered Training Instructor certification preferred.

Work Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a managed care health plan as a service coordinator, along with at least 3-5 years of experience in training, precepting, or coaching within STAR+PLUS Service Coordination.

Experience in Auditing, Utilization Management, Level 1 Service Coordination, and clinical program development is also essential.

Management Experience: Not applicable.

Software Proficiencies: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel), Articulate, Canva, Rise 360, and Camtasia.
