Job SummaryThe Senior Budget Analyst is pivotal in steering the budget formulation process, which encompasses budget drafting, revenue forecasting, and the creation of comprehensive business plans. This role is essential in identifying training requirements related to budgetary processes and facilitating educational opportunities for departmental and budget managers.
Key ResponsibilitiesPrimary Duties:
1. Formulates the annual budget, including budget workbooks and revenue forecasts.
2. Reviews SAS reports to identify budgetary discrepancies.
3. Compiles detailed financial analysis reports as necessary.
4. Updates position salary information and manages data transfers within the financial system.
5. Creates analytical reports to track financial performance and budget adherence.
6. Provides guidance and support to budget office personnel, coordinating tasks and responsibilities.
7. Prepares and reviews multi-year business plans and fee submissions for regulatory bodies.
8. Conducts detailed analyses of fee structures to ensure compliance and recommends adjustments as needed.
9. Updates budgets for revenue-generating departments.
10. Organizes and leads training sessions for budget and business managers.
11. Investigates and resolves budget-related inquiries.
Educational Background:
A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
Experience:
A minimum of seven years of relevant professional experience.
Advanced Education:
A Master's degree from an accredited institution in Business, Finance, Public Administration, or a related field.
The anticipated salary range is $66,760 to $72,000, contingent upon relevant experience.
Knowledge, Skills, & AbilitiesAbilities:
Capable of training both novice and experienced managers in financial processes.
Skilled in managing multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
Knowledge:
In-depth understanding of budget formulation and development.
Familiarity with financial management practices.
Proficient in advanced budgeting methodologies.
Skills:
Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills (both verbal and written).
Proficient in relevant software applications, including Microsoft Office and financial management systems.
Strong attention to detail and customer service orientation.
