Position Overview

Saunders Corp. Inc. is on the lookout for a driven Outside Sales Converter Specialist. In this pivotal role, you will be tasked with maximizing revenue and profits within your designated regional territory by nurturing existing customer relationships and pursuing new business opportunities. This position offers a chance to collaborate with both internal and external partners to enhance business operations and develop solutions that benefit both Saunders Corp. and R.S. Hughes' clientele.

Essential Competencies for Success

  • 70% - Customer Account Management & Business Development – Cultivate new customer relationships while enhancing and retaining existing accounts to drive product sales growth.
  • 20% - Vendor Relations & Solution Design – Optimize material usage, machine performance, and vendor partnerships to reduce costs and add value for your customer base.
  • 10% - Administrative Duties – Engage in training, territory planning, sales administration, and reporting.
  • Manage and expand a dedicated regional territory.
  • Collaborate with Saunders Sales Engineers and Estimating teams to achieve regional sales objectives.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service with urgency and integrity, working effectively with colleagues and vendors.
  • Design and specify converted solutions tailored to customer needs and value requirements.
  • Utilize strong interpersonal skills to engage with all levels of the customer's organization.
  • Employ technical and creative skills to collaborate with customer engineering teams; experience with AutoCAD/SolidWorks is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Conduct B2B cold calling to continuously seek new accounts and applications.
  • Work alongside the R.S. Hughes sales force to leverage existing customer relationships.
  • Assist management in training the distribution sales force on Saunders' converting expertise.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • A four-year college degree is preferred but not mandatory.
  • A minimum of 5 years of successful experience in outside sales of converted products.
  • A valid driver's license is required.

Skills for Success

  • Knowledge of industrial, manufacturing, and product processes is preferred but not essential.
  • Experience in business-to-business technical sales.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Exceptional follow-up skills in developing, monitoring, and executing sales strategies to meet regional sales targets.
