Position Summary:
The Mechanical Technician plays a crucial role in both technical and administrative capacities within our manufacturing facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the organization and upkeep of project documentation and design databases.
- Execute installation and troubleshooting of 480-volt three-phase electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives and safety protocols.
- Design, fabricate, machine, and weld components as required.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues effectively.
- Collaborate with senior engineering personnel on equipment installation, troubleshooting, and upgrades.
- Assist in engineering and plant maintenance projects to meet objectives within budget and timelines.
- Conduct physical installation of equipment during relocations and upgrades.
- Support maintenance teams in identifying and rectifying issues.
- Ensure production equipment is functioning optimally to meet order fulfillment.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Industrial Mechanics or Field Service.
- Experience in the plastics industry is advantageous.
- Adherence to safety standards during on-site tasks is essential.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD drafting is required.
- Must possess the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English; bilingual skills (English/Spanish) are a plus.
- Capability to troubleshoot PLC systems and interpret technical diagrams and manuals.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 55 lbs overhead.
- Must be able to walk, stand, crouch, and climb as necessary for job duties.
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, and varying weather conditions may occur.
- The work environment may be loud and hot, exceeding 90 degrees.
