Classification and Compensation Analyst Job Description

Clackamas County is seeking a Classification and Compensation Analyst to join their experienced Class/Comp team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in classification and compensation, with a minimum of four years of experience in conducting job analyses, drafting written analysis and recommendations, and developing, writing, and/or revising job and classification descriptions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct job analyses of new or modified positions via the Position Classification Questionnaire (PCQ) process.
  • Communicate results of position reviews to management and employees, both verbally and in writing.
  • Educate and advise management on County classification and compensation policies, procedures, strategies, and services.
  • Participate in the maintenance of the County's classification and compensation plans.
  • Utilize job analysis techniques to determine applicable directly relevant experience in order to complete Salary Placement Assessments for new hires, re-hires, promotions, etc.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of four years of classification and compensation experience.
  • Experience using an enterprise-based HRIS system, such as Oracle PeopleSoft.
  • Experience communicating technical information, both verbally and written to a wide range of audiences with various levels of knowledge or understanding of the subject.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a union environment.
  • Experience working in the public sector.
  • Active Human resource certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, etc.).
  • Classification & Compensation Professional Certificate (CCP).

Work Schedule:

This position is included in the County's alternate workweek program, working 40 hours during a standard workweek of Monday through Thursday (Fridays off). Specific hours of work will be discussed with the candidate selected for this position at the time an offer of employment is extended.

This position is eligible for hybrid on-site/telework subject to the and based on the Department's business needs. The exact amount of on-site/telework and schedule will be discussed with the hiring manager during time of offer. Telework locations cannot be located outside of Oregon or Washington. Washington residents must perform 50% of their time on-site at Clackamas County.
