Customer Service Representative

Job Overview:

The Customer Service Representative is responsible for managing customer orders and addressing inquiries and complaints effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Receive and process customer orders directly or through sales representatives.
  2. Timely placement of orders for materials and supplies required for production.
  3. Manage billing processes efficiently.
  4. Address customer complaints and questions, coordinating with internal teams as necessary.
  5. Maintain accurate customer records and files.
  6. Process new product entries and purchase orders.
  7. Coordinate accounting credits and record customer order modifications.
  8. Send order confirmations to customers via fax.
  9. Support sales personnel and contribute to additional sales efforts.
  10. Monitor warehouse inventory to ensure availability and compliance with minimum/maximum levels.
  11. Analyze monthly usage and restocking needs per customer.
  12. Adhere to company policies and procedures.
  13. Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED is required. Preferred candidates will have:

  • Experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Proficiency in computer data entry.
  • Background in the corrugated box industry.

Language Skills:

Strong communication skills are essential, with the ability to read and interpret documents such as sales reports and operational instructions. Capable of writing routine correspondence and reports.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations and compute rates, ratios, and percentages.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense to follow instructions and solve various problems with limited information.

Technical Skills:

Familiarity with computer data entry applications and knowledge of production processes.

Physical Demands:

Regularly required to walk, talk, hear, stand, and sit. Vision requirements include close and distance vision, color vision, and depth perception.

Work Environment:

Employees may be exposed to humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and elevated noise levels.

Performance Metrics:

Performance will be evaluated based on operating standards, personal growth goals, employee relations, and creativity in contributing to business advancements.
