Position Overview

AECOM is looking for a Junior Civil Engineering Associate to join our team.

This role is anticipated to commence shortly.

The key responsibilities of this position encompass, but are not limited to:

  • Developing analytical and design capabilities.
  • Executing engineering designs under the guidance of a seasoned engineer.
  • Producing designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, and detailed drawings with oversight.
  • Gathering and evaluating data under the mentorship of an experienced engineer.
  • Utilizing software tools to address fundamental engineering challenges.
  • Ensuring work aligns with established budgets and timelines under supervision.
  • Preparing engineering calculations and generating visual aids.
  • Creating design plans (including plan views, profiles, sections, and details) using Autodesk Civil 3D.
  • Collaborating with project managers or senior team members.
  • Presenting design concepts to AECOM project teams.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent experience and/or education.
  • Possession of a valid U.S. Driver's License is preferred for site visits when public transport is unavailable.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam.
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microstation, Arc GIS, and Hydrologic/Hydraulic modeling.
  • Prior internship or work experience with engineering firms, contractors, or governmental bodies involved in design, construction, or management of civil projects.
