Billing Specialist III

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and oversee workflows for preparing client invoices and comprehensive reconciliations, ensuring necessary approvals are obtained, distributing invoices, and updating financial records.

  • Investigate and resolve complex billing inquiries and discrepancies, demonstrating knowledge of unique fee structures, regional legislative impacts, and specific client situations.
  • Manage the resolution of standard billing inquiries handled by Support Specialists.
  • Conduct contract analysis to verify accurate transaction and product charges.
  • Assess requests for implementation and other ad hoc credits, ensuring compliance with legal standards and appropriate approvals, while monitoring PBM reimbursement statuses as necessary.
  • Collaborate with various accounting departments to understand and optimize the effects of billing processes on accounts receivable, commissions, and accounts payable workflows.
  • Engage regularly with clients and internal Account Managers to assist with billing inquiries and provide necessary documentation.
  • Maintain a strong working relationship with PBM contacts to guarantee timely and precise receipt of essential billing information.
  • Leverage expertise and both internal and external resources to address client inquiries and confirm invoice accuracy.
  • Review customer auto-draft payments and the application of customer credits.
  • Perform additional billing administrative tasks as directed by management.
  • Participate in cross-training initiatives within the Accounting department as required.
  • Manage ad hoc projects and process enhancements as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in billing processing or accounts receivable roles.
  • Preferred degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field, though not mandatory.
  • Proven ability to investigate and resolve discrepancies with minimal supervision.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential.
  • Strong understanding of billing and accounts receivable transactions and processes.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving capabilities.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • Collaborative team player; proactive and committed to completing tasks effectively.
  • Strong numerical aptitude and accuracy in handling figures are crucial.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously to meet deadlines.

Compensation and Benefits:

The anticipated salary range for this position is $47,830 - $56,200 annually. Final compensation will be determined based on various factors, including experience, skills, knowledge, and internal equity considerations. This role is also eligible for short-term incentives, with amounts varying based on individual and business objectives.
