Essential Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree in systems engineering or a closely related field is essential, accompanied by a minimum of 10 years of pertinent experience; alternatively, a Master's degree with at least 8 years of relevant experience is acceptable. Experience in Agile methodologies is preferred.
SECURITY CLEARANCE:
Applicants must possess a Department of Defense TS/SCI security clearance at the time of hire. Selected candidates will undergo a U.S. Government security investigation and must fulfill eligibility criteria for access to classified information. U.S. citizenship is mandatory due to the nature of the work.

GDMS currently has an opening for a Lead Systems Engineering Specialist to join our dynamic team. This role offers the chance to contribute to pioneering technologies that underpin critical defense services for our nation. The chosen candidate will engage with collaborative teams to develop and oversee various GDMS and client technologies. Key Responsibilities
The Lead Systems Engineering Specialist will analyze, design, develop, and test GDMS systems to ensure the integration of software, hardware, reliability, maintainability, safety, and other requirements in the overall engineering effort. Additional responsibilities include:
- Formulating operational concepts
- Conducting mission, functional, cost-benefit, and risk analyses
- Selecting systems architecture
- Preparing specifications for GDMS operating systems to ensure compliance with applicable security standards
- Documenting security for both new and existing information systems
- Providing accreditation/certification evaluation and test support to ensure all technical security features are properly implemented and functioning
Additional Responsibilities
- Utilize creative thinking and ideation to enhance business performance
- Deliver innovative, adaptable, integrated solutions to meet evolving customer needs
- Engage in programs, projects, and practices that align with GDMS culture and strategy, adhering to all policies and procedures
- Stay informed on industry and departmental trends to ensure GDMS services are consistent with or exceed industry best practices
PREFERRED DEGREE TYPES AND EXPERIENCE:
- Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering
- Experience in SIGINT and Space Payloads
