Job Title: Regional Estimating Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Regional Estimating Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing project documents, designing and reviewing cost-effective dewatering systems, and communicating with customers and contractors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Review: Evaluate engineering plans, drawings, and specifications to prepare estimates and detailed technical reports.
  • Cost Estimation: Perform mathematical and engineering calculations to estimate costs for dewatering systems.
  • System Design: Assist with system design, including hydraulic analysis, fluid dynamics, and system modeling.
  • Proposal Writing: Write detailed commercial and technical descriptions for project proposals.
  • Bidding Opportunities: Evaluate search outputs for strong bidding opportunities for the company.
  • Quotation Preparation: Assist in writing comprehensive quotations based on project data and company cost structure.
  • Project Analysis: Assist with gathering technical data, analyzing data, and preparing reports to summarize project details.
  • Submittals and Presentations: Prepare required project submittals and PowerPoint presentations.
  • Problem Resolution: Assist with resolving problems in system design.
  • Progress Meetings: Schedule and conduct progress meetings for larger projects with account managers and project managers.
  • Post-Audit Analysis: Participate in post-audit analysis of project results, including cost management and objectives achieved.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Observe, retain, and apply skills and knowledge obtained at the workplace to help elevate the region's understanding of complex pumping systems.
  • Post-Project Audits: Conduct post-project audits and analyses of completed projects.
  • Estimate Review: Review internal estimates for technical accuracy and pricing.
  • Customer Support: Field phone calls and direct sales leads to appropriate personnel.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Geology, Hydrogeology, Geotechnical Engineering, or an equivalent amount of school or work experience in a related field.
  • Experience: Previous experience in commercial pumping applications or construction estimating.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Planning and Organization: Planning and organizational skills.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to problem solve using technical data.
  • Self-Motivation: Strongly self-motivated, ability to perform tasks with little or no direction.
  • Technical Knowledge: Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and/or technical manuals preferred.
  • Budget Estimating: Knowledge of budget cost estimating and bidding procedures preferred.

  • Physical Demands: Requires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward.
