Job Description

The Center for Workforce Inclusion is seeking a highly skilled Community Engagement Specialist to join our team. This part-time position will play a crucial role in developing and implementing community engagement efforts across various parks and historic sites.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Community Engagement Strategy Development: Collaborate with National Capital Parks-East staff and partners to design and implement community engagement initiatives that foster strong relationships with local communities.
  • Stakeholder Analysis: Analyze stakeholder and public reactions to communication efforts to determine the effectiveness of our strategies and make data-driven adjustments.
  • On-Site Support: Provide on-site support and engagement with NACE staff and park partners to ensure successful community outreach efforts.
  • Public Relations and Communications: Work with NACE staff to develop and implement strategic public relations and communications plans, including social media and website management.
  • Research and Development: Conduct research using primary sources on various park-related themes to inform community engagement efforts.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as required to support the operation of the division.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Age and Eligibility: Must be 55 years of age or older and eligible to work in the United States.
  • Education and Experience: BA/BS in community development, community organizing, public administration, or a related field, with 5-10 years of experience in a related field.
  • Skills and Abilities: Strong cultural competence, ability to communicate and implement ideas that lead to cooperative plans, and experience using inclusive language reflective of diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility principles.
  • Working Relationships: Ability to maintain effective working relationships with diverse organizations, groups, and individuals.
Compensation and Benefits:

This part-time position offers 24 hours of work per week at $35 per hour, with a 6-12 month project duration.
