Key Responsibilities
  • Manage end-to-end order cash process, ensuring timely and accurate billing, collections, revenue recognition, and reporting
  • Review sales tax calculations and manage sales tax inquiries from clients, reconciling sales tax records with returns filed
  • Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate and timely recording of transactions
  • Reconcile revenue and other financial accounts
  • Participate in the development of new products to determine revenue recognition and develop key controls and new or enhanced reporting as necessary
  • Serve as subject matter expert on billing systems for upgrades and process changes
  • Collaborate with IT, sales, and other internal groups in process improvement initiatives
  • Review contracts to interpret terms and conditions and determine revenue recognition
  • Coordinate the collection of overdue accounts
  • Hire, train, and provide direction to billing staff
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
  • Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations
  • Coordinate with external auditors and manage the audit process
Requirements
  • 5+ years of relevant accounting experience, with experience in billing and revenue
  • Knowledge of sales tax recognition
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles
  • Proficient in accounting software (NetSuite strongly preferred), Google Suite, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
