About the Position: The Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability is seeking a talented researcher with a background in finance or economics for a full-time, 1-year fixed term role. As a Sustainability Researcher, you will investigate various approaches to climate risk management, including insurance, financial markets, and policy. You will assist principal investigators with designing experiments constituting a phase of a research project for which precedents are few.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute quantitative analytical research on innovative funding approaches and new financing models in sustainable investing.
  • Assist principal investigators with designing experiments constituting a phase of a research project for which precedents are few.
  • Conduct experiments, including coordinating complex experimental protocols.
  • Independently identify/modify standard procedures based on judgment concerning the general goals of a project.

Requirements: To be successful in this position, you will need:

  • A graduate degree in an applicable social science-related field and five years of applicable experience, or a combination of education and relevant experience in an applicable social science.
  • Expert-level knowledge and skills in the field of science related to the research project.
  • General computer skills and the ability to quickly learn and master computer programs.
  • Strong analytical skills and excellent judgment.
  • Ability to work under deadlines with general guidance.
  • Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated ability to complete detailed work accurately.
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.

What We Offer: We offer a competitive salary range of $93,062 to $111,670 per annum, commensurate with experience. At Stanford University, base pay represents only one aspect of the comprehensive rewards package.
