About the Role: We are seeking a highly motivated researcher with a background in finance or economics to join our team at Stanford University's Sustainability Finance Initiative. As a Climate Risk Specialist, you will investigate various approaches to climate risk management, including insurance, financial markets, and policy. You will design and execute quantitative analytical research on innovative funding approaches and new financing models in sustainable investing.

Your Key Responsibilities:
- Design and execute quantitative analytical research on innovative funding approaches and new financing models in sustainable investing.
- Write high-quality research papers and case studies.
- Help design market engagement activities, including invitation-only workshops, guest speakers, and educational forums.
- Establish trust and credibility with public and private investors and other key stakeholders.
Requirements: To be successful in this position, you will need:
- A graduate degree in an applicable social science-related field and five years of applicable experience, or a combination of education and relevant experience in an applicable social science.
- Expert-level knowledge and skills in the field of science related to the research project.
- General computer skills and the ability to quickly learn and master computer programs.
- Strong analytical skills and excellent judgment.
- Ability to work under deadlines with general guidance.
- Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated ability to complete detailed work accurately.
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
What We Offer: We offer a competitive salary range of $93,062 to $111,670 per annum, commensurate with experience. At Stanford University, base pay represents only one aspect of the comprehensive rewards package.
