Financial Aid Advisor

Suffolk University is seeking qualified candidates for the role of Financial Aid Advisor. This position is part of the Office of Student Financial Services and reports directly to the Assistant VP/Director of Student Financial Services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Graduate Student Support: Act as the primary financial aid advisor for a significant portion of the graduate student body, overseeing all aspects of financial aid distribution.
- Private Loan Processing: Assess and certify eligibility for private educational loans for all students, ensuring compliance with regulations and conducting annual evaluations of recommended lenders.
- Exit Counseling: Fulfill federal exit counseling requirements for all students, providing necessary materials and guidance to graduating and non-enrolled individuals.
- Financial Guidance: Offer insights to prospective and current students regarding financial aid options and payment programs. Advise on merit and need-based aid criteria, application procedures, and federal, state, and institutional policies. Conduct presentations on financial aid at various university events.
- Additional Duties: Perform other related tasks as required.
Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree and have experience in a financial aid office within a higher education institution. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills are preferred, along with attention to detail and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced customer service environment.
