Director of Operations

About the Role:
Lifespace Communities is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Director to lead our community in the Pittsburgh area. As a key member of our Leadership team, you will be responsible for driving strategic growth, developing and implementing operational plans, and fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement strategic plans to maintain quality services, drive growth, and improve operational efficiency.
- Team Development: Attract, recruit, hire, develop, and retain key leadership and management teams to ensure a high-performing team.
- Community Engagement: Develop and maintain positive professional relationships with residents, resident family members, team members, and external stakeholders.
- Operational Excellence: Meet regularly with Lifespace Senior Leadership to report on operational issues, trends, barriers, and resolutions.
- Risk Management: Collaborate with the Home Office Risk Manager and local Safety Committees to initiate, design, and support programs to adhere to OSHA, workers' compensation, and risk avoidance policies.
- Marketing and Sales: Work with the local Director of Sales and Marketing, Regional Director Sales, and Marketing (RDSM), and Vice President Sales and Marketing (VPSM) to ensure clear expectations, monitor, and maintain accountability to support day-to-day marketing activities and programs to meet budgeted monthly and annual sales goals.
- Financial Management: Prepare the community's annual operating budget, considering possible variances and managing programs and strategies to ensure budgets are met.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare, gerontology, hotel/restaurant management, or a closely related area. Master's degree is highly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of seven (7) years of experience as an executive director or administrator within a continuing care retirement community, or a minimum of ten (10) years of experience as an executive director or administrator in a long-term care senior living environment, or a minimum of ten (10) years of progressive leadership with the hospitality industry.
