Position Overview:

Objective:

· Accountable for overseeing project deliverables and ensuring timely completion from the initial business requirements through to post-implementation support.

· The Technical Project Leader will spearhead the planning and execution of projects to guarantee that objectives are met and aligned with the company's goals.

· Collaborates closely with Product Managers to drive the success of the product.

Key Responsibilities:

Core Functions:

Project Planning (30%):

· Collect requirements and facilitate the development of business cases for project portfolio management, including high-level estimations.

· Develop comprehensive project plans, including budgets, issues and risks, action items, and status reports while adhering to internal methodologies.

· Conduct release planning.

Project Execution and Oversight (50%):

· Manage, integrate, and balance resource requirements and budget forecasts across various projects without compromising deliverables, timelines, or quality.

· Lead teams in the design, development, integration, and support of software products and systems.

· Foster a T-shaped skill set within teams.

· Identify and address project issues and risks, including tracking, escalation, and mitigation strategies.

· Provide ongoing support regarding application and system operations, including direct support, problem investigation, and liaising with other departments for timely resolution.

· Supervise the performance and professional growth of technical team members, including regular one-on-one meetings, recruitment of new talent, and conducting performance evaluations.

· Adhere to Agile methodologies in software development as appropriate.

· Collaborate with product managers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure the success of the developed product/functionality.

Project Communication (20%):

· Communicate project progress to senior management and stakeholders, highlighting issues and proposed resolutions.

· Manage stakeholder expectations and deliver on commitments.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

· Ability to comprehend customer application usage from a business perspective.

· Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, and planning skills.

· Proficient in managing multiple projects in a dynamic, cross-functional development environment.

· Proven expertise in project management methodologies and practices.

· Strong leadership and management skills are essential, with prior experience leading successful technical teams and projects.

· Familiarity with AWS or other cloud technologies is preferred.

· Knowledge of multi-tier architecture technology, particularly Java, High Availability, and Disaster Recovery, is highly desirable.

· Comprehensive understanding and experience of the full development life cycle.

· Proficient in business analysis tools and techniques.

· Must demonstrate initiative with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

· Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project is required.

· Previous experience collaborating with offshore technical teams is advantageous.

· Ability to meet deadlines in projects that may involve heavy workloads at times.

Education and Experience:

· A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred.

· At least seven (7) years of experience in software development.

· A minimum of two years of experience in software development management or team leadership is required.

· Experience with Agile and SCRUM methodologies is preferred.

· PMP Certification is preferred (must be obtained within the first year of employment).

· Agile certification (PMI or Scrum Alliance) is preferred.
