JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Drive product innovation during the initial development stages to ensure cost-effective and flawless production. Enhance existing manufacturing and testing methodologies to meet the performance and cost objectives for upcoming device applications. Ensure the smooth introduction of new products by establishing sample lines and process development tools. Engage in proactive quality planning initiatives. Define functional specifications, assess designs, and troubleshoot/validate new high-volume assembly and testing machinery or tools. Transfer expertise to site personnel. Support projects aimed at minimizing cycle times, defects, and production costs. Collaborate with suppliers and contract manufacturers to guarantee that processes are efficient, adequately controlled, and aligned with our delivery and cost goals. Assess both Sensata's and suppliers' technical capabilities, including tooling design, production experience, maintenance protocols, processes, and quality control systems. Participate in equipment evaluations. Document and communicate effective processes and Design of Experiments (DOE) findings. Diagnose and resolve issues with tooling, equipment, and processes using systematic engineering principles, including Six Sigma methodologies, root cause analysis, and structured problem-solving techniques. Lead Process Engineering technicians in supporting process development, equipment troubleshooting, documentation creation, Production Trial Runs (PTRs), Production Validation (PV) builds, and Run at Rate assessments. Assist in customer audits related to production equipment, tooling, and documentation. Collaborate closely with product design and quality engineers to provide ongoing feedback on product design, risks, and controls throughout the manufacturing lifecycle. Establish guidelines to promote Design for Manufacturing/Assembly principles for new products. Generate process documentation, including work instructions, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Control Plans, and process flows for new products and processes. Coordinate and conduct tooling and equipment design reviews. Identify suitable machine and process controls for new methodologies. Draft machine specifications and oversee the development of new equipment to ensure compliance with product and process requirements through supplier site evaluations. Produce Engineering samples, compile Manufacturing Engineering Reports for each run, and maintain yield tracking for new products. Engage in maturity gates, Design Engineering, Process Engineering, and Quality Assurance reviews to ensure timely follow-up on critical actions impacting project execution. Conduct process assessments to keep the program updated on new product development progress.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Less than 25% domestic and international travel to suppliers, customers, and manufacturing sites is expected.

QUALIFICATIONS: A Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline, along with two (2) years of experience in Process Engineering or a similar field. Required experience includes:

  • Two (2) years of experience in data analytics (e.g., Minitab, Power BI, or similar);
  • Two (2) years of experience with Design of Experiments (DOE);
  • Two (2) years of experience in Problem Solving Methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma or similar);
  • Two (2) years of experience with CAD Software (e.g., SolidWorks or similar);
  • Two (2) years of experience with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Hybrid work schedule permitted, allowing for two (2) days of remote work per week within a reasonable commuting distance.
