JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Drive product design enhancements during the initial stages of product development to ensure cost-effective and flawless manufacturing. Innovate or refine manufacturing and testing methodologies essential for meeting the performance and cost objectives of upcoming device applications. Ensure the successful introduction of new products into the market. Establish sample production lines and process development apparatus. Engage in proactive quality planning initiatives. Define functional specifications, assess designs, and troubleshoot/validate new high-volume assembly and testing equipment or tools. Share expertise to empower site personnel. Champion improvement initiatives aimed at minimizing cycle times, defects, and production costs. Collaborate with suppliers and contract manufacturers to confirm that processes are efficient, well-controlled, capable of meeting delivery timelines, and aligned with cost targets. Assess the technical capabilities of both Sensata and its suppliers, including tooling design, construction experience, maintenance strategies, processes, process controls, and quality assurance systems. Participate in equipment evaluations. Document and communicate robust processes and Design of Experiments (DOE) outcomes. Diagnose and resolve issues with tools, equipment, and processes using systematic engineering principles, including Six Sigma techniques, root cause analysis, and structured problem-solving methodologies. Supervise Process Engineering technicians in their responsibilities related to process development, equipment troubleshooting, documentation creation, Production Trial Runs (PTRs), Production Validation (PV) builds, and Run at Rate assessments. Facilitate customer audits of production line equipment, tools, and documentation. Collaborate closely with product design engineers and quality engineers to provide continuous feedback on product design, associated risks, and control measures throughout the manufacturing lifecycle. Establish guidelines to promote Design for Manufacturing/Assembly principles for new products. Create process documentation, including work instructions, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Control Plans, and process flow diagrams for new products and processes. Organize and/or conduct tooling and equipment design reviews. Identify suitable machine and process controls for new manufacturing processes. Draft machine specifications and oversee the development of new equipment to ensure compliance with product and process requirements, conducting buyoff at supplier locations. Generate Engineering samples, compile Manufacturing Engineering Reports for each production run, and maintain yield tracking documentation for new products. Engage in maturity gates, Design Engineering, and Quality Assurance reviews to ensure proper follow-up on critical actions impacting project execution. Conduct process reviews to keep stakeholders informed about the development of new product processes.


TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Less than 25% domestic and international travel to suppliers, customers, and manufacturing sites may be necessary.


QUALIFICATIONS: A Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline, along with two (2) years of experience in Process Engineering or a comparable field. Required experience includes:

  • Two (2) years of experience in data analytics (e.g., Minitab, Power BI, or similar tools);
  • Two (2) years of experience with Design of Experiments (DOE);
  • Two (2) years of experience in Problem Solving Methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma or similar);
  • Two (2) years of experience using CAD Software (e.g., SolidWorks or similar);
  • Two (2) years of experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Hybrid work schedule available, allowing for remote work two (2) days a week within a reasonable commuting distance.
