Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Globe Composite Solutions, Ltd. as a Syntactic Systems Specialist. This is a key role that will drive the technical aspects of our value-added sales process from RFQ evaluation through project completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage project specifications, communicate project needs to production, and develop product testing requirements.
  • Manage schedules, source non-standard materials, and create detailed engineering presentations for customer review.
  • Work within our company structure to achieve quality and consistency of product and service delivery, customer satisfaction, revenue generation, and long-term account goals.
  • Act as primary technical resource on a project basis for internal and external customers.
  • Evaluate and develop project models using SolidWorks from customer submission stage through drawing release to production floor.
  • Develop clear and effective written proposals/quotations for current and prospective customers.
  • Manage projects and serve as primary point of contact for select customers and contracts.
  • Use mechanical engineering skills to support development of new products, including mechanical design, stress/strain calculations, etc.
  • Work with production to create necessary procedures, fixtures, and test methods to ensure efficient and satisfactory project completion.
  • Assist in the development and upgrade of in-house and external machining capabilities, including internal CNC programming.
  • Effectively communicate material needs to purchasing personnel and communicate timeline and project needs to internal production line and external vendors.
  • Develop and communicate suitable packaging/crating needs for finished product shipment to vendors and/or final customer.
  • Participate in trade shows and customer visits as appropriate for our market.
  • Expedite the resolution of customer complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, preparing reports, and making recommendations to management.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline.
  • 1-3 years of industry experience.
  • Demonstrates technical selling skills and product knowledge.
  • Intermediate or better knowledge of SolidWorks.
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office applications.
  • Results-oriented and able to work both independently and within a team environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent presentation and negotiation skills.
Work Environment

The majority of work is performed in a manufacturing environment with noise levels within safety limits and acceptable lighting and temperature conditions.
