Job Overview:

OM Internships is looking for a skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in analyzing manufacturing specifications and related data to conceptualize effective manufacturing and machining processes.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop optimal manufacturing processes to fulfill client requirements.
  • Estimate time and material costs associated with manufacturing tasks.
  • Provide engineering insights to enhance cost efficiency, processes, and delivery timelines.
  • Engage effectively with clients, suppliers, and team members.
  • Create process routers and Bills of Materials.

Collaborate with the sales team, production staff, vendors, and clients to:

  • Confirm client specifications and ensure clarity of expectations.
  • Assess internal capabilities to meet job specifications.
  • Identify scheduling issues, production delays, and information gaps.
  • Secure accurate and competitive pricing.

Revise engineering drawings by producing additional schematics that illustrate the cutting, bending, and shaping of sheet metal required to manufacture components and assemblies according to client specifications.

Evaluate engineering modifications proposed by fabrication personnel; upon client approval and receipt of updated drawings, amend all relevant internal documentation and programs.

Review and assess Engineering Change Requests (ECRs), engineering memoranda, and drawings from clients; suggest alternatives when necessary.

Investigate and resolve challenges encountered during the manufacturing and assembly of components.

Generate the appropriate file formats for machine operations that cut sheet metal and plate using advanced technologies such as lasers, turret punches, and press brakes.


Physical Requirements:

The position primarily involves desk work.


Work Environment:

Office setting with occasional time spent on the production floor.


Qualifications:
  • Experience: 3-5+ years in a Manufacturing Engineering role.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software, particularly SolidWorks.
  • Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication and machining processes.
  • Ability to create cost estimates for diverse projects and components.
  • Skill in identifying key elements of manufacturing challenges and devising solutions.

Education:

Bachelor's degree preferred.
