Job Overview

KDC Construction is seeking a highly skilled Restaurant Project Manager to lead our commercial construction projects in California and neighboring states. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing projects from initial client contact to project completion, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage project scope, team, resources, and overall success.
  • Collaborate with project teams to plan, design, execute, monitor, control, and close projects.
  • Mentor Assistant Project Managers and ensure adherence to company procedures.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with clients.
  • Lead preconstruction processes, including site surveys, subcontractor selection, and proposal preparation.
  • Partner with estimating to develop and generate bid packages.
  • Schedule preconstruction and construction phases, managing milestones and timelines.
  • Participate in award processes and prepare subcontract agreements.
  • Develop and prepare budgets and estimates for all design stages.
  • Manage master schedules, project timelines, and milestones.
  • Provide regular project updates to owners and executive management.
  • Coordinate permit acquisition and verify inspection schedules and reports.
  • Ensure timely and accurate subcontracts and change orders.
  • Verify employee time allocated to projects and ensure accurate timesheets.
  • Ensure adherence to safety requirements and company Health, Safety, and Environmental Program.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of project management experience in commercial construction.
  • Degree in construction management or related field preferred.
  • Proven track record of success with measurable achievements and leadership roles.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with all project levels.
  • Preconstruction experience, including site surveys, subcontractor selection, and proposal preparation.
  • Scheduling, purchasing, estimating, and management experience.
  • Experience with projects in retail, fast-casual dining, quick-service dining, and hospitality sectors preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand plans and specifications.
  • Ability to perform cost-to-complete analysis for assigned projects.
  • Proficient with Microsoft software suite and experience with Microsoft Project preferred.
  • Demonstrates attention to detail, creative problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Able to identify needs, remove barriers, and make things happen.
  • Values diversity of ideas, opinions, and people.
  • Must possess a valid state driver's license and clean driving record.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive salary range of $95,000 to $133,000, considering experience.
  • Comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees, including medical, dental, vision, life/AD&D insurance, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) retirement plan, vacation and sick time, and holidays.
