Job Overview

The Division:

Risk management is integral to Invesco's daily operations, influencing decision-making and strategic planning. The Enterprise Risk team, overseen by Invesco's Chief Risk and Audit Officer, serves as a global Second Line of Defense, collaborating with business units to ensure effective risk management practices across the organization. Within this framework, the Risk and Audit Operations (R&AO) team provides essential support to Enterprise Risk partners and business stakeholders through governance of risk policies, management of risk events, reporting, and organizational change initiatives.

Your Responsibilities:

As the Risk Event Incident (REI) Manager, you will play a crucial role in the success of Invesco's risk management initiatives by collaborating closely with the R&AO team and business units to lead the Risk Event Incident Management program. This program is designed to ensure effective identification, assessment, management, and monitoring of risk events across the organization.

Your Key Duties Include:

  • Facilitating the implementation of Invesco's Enterprise Incident Management policy and Risk Event Standards & Procedures by
    • Overseeing timely remediation and closure of risk events,
    • Managing loss reimbursements efficiently,
    • Conducting reviews of reported risk events,
    • Ensuring timely completion of compliance reviews, and
    • Engaging with stakeholders to enhance their understanding and utilization of the risk event management process.
  • Providing comprehensive reporting related to Risk Event Incident Management and addressing ad-hoc requests for risk event data.
  • Leading the Risk Event Incident Team to advance the roadmap for risk event management.
  • Delivering status updates on the progress of risk event management initiatives.
  • Collaborating with Strategy Integration on training, communication, and awareness programs to promote effective risk event management among stakeholders.
  • Partnering with other risk management teams and committees to enhance risk management standards and practices.
  • Utilizing best practices to continuously improve our capabilities in managing strategic, operational, and emerging risks across our risk portfolio.
  • Leading or participating in special projects and ad-hoc risk assessments as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 7+ years of relevant experience in risk management, operational risk event incident management, internal/external audit, or related fields, preferably within the asset management industry.
  • A strong commitment to excellence through effective execution; ability to plan and prioritize to achieve objectives.
  • Proven collaboration skills and the ability to build trusting relationships, focusing on client-centered outcomes.
  • Strong communication skills with a capacity to facilitate collaborative decision-making.
  • A mindset geared towards innovation, continuous improvement, and adaptability to change.
  • Advocacy for an inclusive, purpose-driven, and risk-aware organizational culture.
  • A degree in Risk Management, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field; advanced degrees are advantageous.
