Job Summary

Smart Financial Credit Union is seeking an experienced Operational Risk Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating the effectiveness of operational risk processes across the enterprise, leading and participating in risk-related committees, and assisting the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) in strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operational Risk Management
    • Conduct operational risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential risks
    • Oversee the Vendor Management function to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
    • Manage the Incident Response Plan to minimize the impact of operational disruptions
    • Review internal and external operational events to determine root causes and implement mitigating activities
  • BSA and AML Compliance
    • Lead or participate in BSA/OFAC Program functions, including conducting risk assessments, transaction monitoring, and reporting
    • Ensure compliance with BSA and OFAC policies, procedures, and guidelines
    • Liaise with auditors and examiners during regulatory audits and examinations
  • Security Governance
    • Conduct periodic Information Security risk assessments and lead Information Security table-top scenario analyses
    • Oversee the governance of the Information Security Program and the Business Continuity Program
    • Conduct periodic security assessments throughout the enterprise and recommend physical security policies
  • Other Responsibilities
    • Lead or participate in risk-related committees and assist the CRO in strategic initiatives
    • Assist the CRO in evaluating the effectiveness of governance processes, tolerance levels, triggers, and mitigation actions
Requirements
  • Three to five years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience
  • Prior security experience in banking or credit unions required
  • A college degree and risk management certification preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and influence senior-level professionals
