Job Description

Job Summary

Kohler is seeking a highly skilled Automation Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our automation team, you will design, test, and validate automated equipment to deploy to our local plant network.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop electrical and control systems, including sensors, servo axes, PLCs, HMIs, and fieldbus.
  • Develop and implement safety circuits based on safety category determined by EHS.
  • Collaborate with mechanical engineers and information engineers to ensure equipment can produce quality products at specified production rates.
  • Work with product engineers to understand product design, cost of manufacturing, and time to market.
  • Partner with process engineers to develop concept designs and implement single-line diagrams and flowcharts.
  • Conduct and support pilot runs, and complete corrective actions assigned during deployment.
  • Apply sustainability principles to reduce energy and material usage.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in electrical engineering or manufacturing engineering field.
  • Experience with NEC code standard, electrical wiring, and PLC diagnostics, PLC programming, and robotics application.
  • A bachelor's degree from an engineering program is a plus.
  • Experience with AutoCAD Mechanical and/or Inventor Pro is a plus.
