Position Summary:

The MRI Program Clinical Coordinator is tasked with harmonizing clinical education with didactic instruction as directed by the MRI Program Director. This role involves evaluating and ensuring the effectiveness of clinical affiliates and education centers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster student engagement as active participants in their learning journey, removing obstacles to their progression in the MRI program, and supporting their educational aspirations.
  • Implement teaching strategies that integrate MRI concepts, cultivating a positive and interactive learning atmosphere.
  • Stay informed about developments in the healthcare sector related to MRI and assist the program director in updating and modifying courses to align with new regulations.
  • Participate in academic advising and collaborate with academic success coaches to enhance student resources.
  • Coordinate clinical education with didactic instruction as assigned by the program director and assess the effectiveness of clinical education centers.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clinical site representatives to determine student placements and schedules each quarter.
  • Travel to clinical externship locations to meet with instructors and students, reviewing their learning progress and competencies.
  • Assist in the preparation and administration of proficiency assessments and manage departmental equipment, supplies, and resources.
  • Maintain accurate records, submit timely reports, and keep the program director updated on departmental matters.
  • Engage actively in professional organizations, uphold current industry licensure and credentials, and fulfill annual staff development requirements.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree is required.
  • At least two years of full-time experience as a registered sonographer in the professional sonography field is necessary. Full-time is defined as 35 hours per week.
  • Current industry certification(s) with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) is required.
  • Willingness to travel to clinical externship sites to meet with clinical instructors and students for progress reviews is essential, with a minimum of two visits per quarter per student.
  • Teaching at any college location may be required, along with potential in-state or out-of-state travel for discipline-specific training.
  • Completion of coursework in instructional methodologies, evaluation, and assessment, with proficiency in curriculum development is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A Master's Degree in a Health Science field is preferred.
  • Experience teaching at the post-secondary level is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of MRI instruments is desirable.
