Position Summary:

The MRI Program Clinical Coordinator plays a crucial role in aligning clinical education with theoretical instruction as designated by the MRI Program Director. This position involves assessing and ensuring the quality of clinical education at affiliate centers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster student engagement as active participants in their educational journey, facilitating their progression in the MRI program.
  • Implement teaching strategies that integrate MRI principles, creating an interactive and supportive learning atmosphere.
  • Stay informed about advancements in the healthcare field related to MRI and assist in updating course content to comply with new standards.
  • Participate in academic advising and collaborate with success coaches to enhance student resources.
  • Coordinate clinical education with theoretical instruction as directed by the program director, ensuring the effectiveness of clinical partnerships.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clinical site representatives to manage student placements and schedules each term.
  • Conduct site visits to clinical externship locations to monitor student progress and competencies.
  • Assist in the development and administration of proficiency assessments while managing departmental resources and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, submit reports promptly, and keep the program director updated on departmental activities.
  • Engage in professional organizations, uphold current industry certifications, and fulfill annual development requirements.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree is required.
  • At least two years of full-time experience as a registered sonographer in the field is necessary.
  • Current certification(s) from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is mandatory.
  • Willingness to travel to clinical externship sites for student evaluations is essential.
  • Teaching at various college locations may be required, along with potential travel for specialized training.
  • Completion of coursework in instructional methodologies, evaluation, and curriculum development is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A Master's Degree in a Health Science discipline is preferred.
  • Experience teaching at the post-secondary level is advantageous.
  • Strong familiarity with MRI instruments is desirable.
