Campus Facilities Support Specialist

The Campus Facilities Support Specialist plays a crucial role in collaborating with the Campus Superintendent and the maintenance team to execute various operational tasks that ensure the smooth functioning of the campus.
Key Responsibilities:
· Conduct routine maintenance of the building and office areas, which encompasses the upkeep of hallways, kitchens, conference rooms, lobbies, corridors, storage spaces, and other work environments.
· Cleaning duties may involve, but are not limited to, trash removal, vacuuming, mopping, sweeping, dusting, buffing, carpet cleaning, window washing, floor and ceiling scrubbing, and restroom sanitization.
· Carry out minor repair tasks and modifications within the facility, such as furniture assembly, custodial equipment repairs, touch-up painting, and installation of teaching aids.
· Perform daily inspections of grounds and buildings to identify hazards and damages.
· Prepare and submit work orders for necessary repairs or replacements.
· Maintain cleanliness and monitor restrooms throughout the day to uphold health and safety standards, adhering to Universal Precautions and sanitation protocols when managing clean-up of bodily fluids.
· Follow security protocols and report any suspicious activities to the Campus Superintendent and Facilities Director.
· Open and close the facility as required for authorized activities, ensuring the premises remain secure at all times.
· Set up and transition rooms for daily functions, board meetings, events, and special classes, ensuring areas are tidy and furniture is stored appropriately after events.
· Utilize daily custodial logs, checklists, and work orders for effective communication and task management.
· Receive, unpack, store, and distribute instructional and custodial supplies to the appropriate personnel or storage areas, ensuring accuracy in delivery notes and addressing any discrepancies.
· Serve as backup support for funeral, entombment, and internment services at the on-site Mausoleum.
· Perform additional duties as assigned by the Campus Superintendent.
Qualifications:
· Hands-on experience in building maintenance, custodial work, and groundskeeping.
· Strong oral and written communication skills.
· Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
· Proficient in understanding work directions and communicating effectively in English.
· Capable of managing multiple tasks amidst frequent interruptions.
· Ability to engage and work harmoniously with all levels of the organization.
· Recognize the importance of workplace safety, adhere to safety protocols, practice safe work habits, and report unsafe conditions to supervisors.
· Committed to promoting and following organizational policies and departmental procedures.
· Availability to work nights and weekends is required.
Education and Experience:
· High school diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent vocational training.
· A minimum of 2 years of experience in custodial work, operating custodial equipment, and possessing basic computer skills.
