Position Summary

The Assistant Property Manager plays a crucial role in guiding and supporting the onsite leasing team. Collaborating closely with the Property Manager, this position helps establish strategic objectives for the leasing team to meet organizational goals. Responsibilities encompass areas such as collections, resident engagement, maintenance coordination, and adherence to safety protocols and company policies.

Key ResponsibilitiesLeasing
  • Supervise property staff, providing coaching, development, and training for all leasing personnel.
  • Manage leasing activities to ensure optimal property occupancy.
  • Oversee the move-in and move-out processes, including scheduling turnovers, conducting unit inspections, and coordinating necessary work.
  • Perform all duties associated with the Leasing Consultant role.
Administrative
  • Evaluate prospective tenants by collecting rental and credit histories, ensuring compliance with company guidelines.
  • Assist in rent collection, including processing payments and issuing notices for overdue accounts.
  • Ensure completion of essential office documentation, including invoice review and coding.
  • Adhere to safety program requirements and promote a safe working environment.
Marketing
  • Conduct regular market research to stay informed about competitive practices.
  • Gather rental information as requested by the Property Manager.
Resident Engagement
  • Assist in organizing resident events, participating as necessary.
  • Handle all incoming calls and in-person inquiries, addressing resident requests and concerns in the absence of the Property Manager.
  • Promptly address maintenance requests and ensure satisfactory completion of repairs, following up with residents as needed.
QualificationsEducation and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience as an Assistant Property Manager or in a similar role.
  • Proven leasing experience, with a minimum of one year.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience with Yardi software is preferred.

  • Fluent in English with strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interact with tact and diplomacy, maintaining a courteous demeanor with colleagues and the public.

  • Real Estate Licenses must not be active while employed in this position.
