Job Overview

Position Summary

The Front Desk Associate plays a vital role in ensuring smooth operations at the Community Medical Group. This position involves a variety of clerical tasks that require a solid understanding of medical terminology and clinical practices. The individual in this role is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service to patients and visitors entering the facility.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Answer phone calls professionally and direct them to the appropriate personnel.
  2. Welcome visitors, determine the purpose of their visit, and guide them to the correct staff member.
  3. Efficiently check in and check out patients while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
  4. Accurately enter patient demographics into the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
  5. Verify patients' insurance details, contact information, and addresses to ensure accurate billing.
  6. Confirm appointments for patients.
  7. Collect co-payments from patients as required.
  8. Provide outstanding customer service to all patients and visitors.
  9. Prepare and manage correspondence, reports, and other documentation, utilizing relevant software.
  10. Receive and distribute messages and documents as necessary.
  11. Schedule follow-up appointments with physicians.
  12. Maintain and process medical records in compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
  13. Utilize the EHR system to manage patient records effectively.
  14. Ensure proper handling and uploading of discharged patients' records into the EHR.
  15. Log physician orders accurately.
  16. Scan and process patient documents into the EHR system.
  17. Safeguard patient information by maintaining confidentiality in secured storage.
  18. Monitor the check-in and check-out process of patient charts in collaboration with professional staff.
  19. Stamp and email legal requests to the corporate office as required.
  20. Assist colleagues with various tasks when necessary.
  21. Facilitate effective patient flow to minimize wait times.
  22. Adhere to all HIPAA and OSHA regulations.
  23. Additional Duties

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  2. Previous experience in a clinical or administrative role is preferred.
  3. Familiarity with MS Office applications is necessary.

  2. Capability to work independently and complete tasks as per established guidelines.
