Job Overview:

As an Extended Substitute Educator, you will be tasked with delivering grade-level curriculum aligned with educational standards during the absence of the regular classroom teacher for an extended duration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance and support to students to foster academic success.
  • Supervise and enforce behavioral expectations among students, promoting positive conduct in line with school policies.
  • Assess and document students' performance, behavior, and overall development.
  • Develop and organize educational materials and course outlines in accordance with curriculum standards.
  • Clearly communicate learning objectives for lessons and projects to students.
  • Utilize diverse teaching methods and technologies to engage students and cater to different learning styles.
  • Conduct individual and group instruction using various pedagogical approaches.
  • Design, administer, and evaluate assessments to monitor student progress, recording results through district systems.
  • Prepare necessary reports on student attendance and activities as required.
  • Collaborate with parents, educators, and administrators to address and resolve academic and behavioral challenges.
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Education or a related discipline.
  • Possession of a valid Colorado Department of Education (CDE) teaching license.
  • Commitment to educational equity and dismantling systemic barriers to student success.
  • Residency in Colorado while fulfilling the role.
  • Capability to meet the physical demands of the position, with or without accommodations.
