Job Description:

The Archdiocese of Denver Management Co is in search of a compassionate, collaborative, and enthusiastic elementary education instructor. The selected candidate will be a qualified educator who fulfills the necessary criteria to teach within a Catholic educational framework in the Archdiocese of Denver. The instructor will report directly to the principal and is expected to adhere to the policies and procedures set forth by the local institution, the Archdiocese, and the Office of Catholic Schools. The educator will work alongside the principal and staff to foster an environment that enhances the mission of Catholic education.

The educational institution operates with a departmentalized structure for 4th and 5th grades. The instructor will manage a 4th-grade homeroom, delivering instruction in mathematics, religion, and writing. Additionally, the instructor will provide writing instruction to another 4th-grade class and both 5th-grade classes.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:
  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree, ideally in education;
  • Possession of the requisite state teaching license;
  • Compliance with Safe Environment protocols post-hiring.
Additional Requirements:
  • Must be a fully initiated Catholic actively participating in the Catholic Church;
  • Must refrain from endorsing or engaging in any behavior that could bring disrepute to the Archdiocese or contradict Catholic teachings;
  • Experience working with children is essential;
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds;
  • Willingness to navigate multiple flights of stairs daily.
Key Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of the Catholic School Instructor will encompass, but are not limited to:
  • Instruct and act in alignment with the doctrinal and moral teachings of the Catholic Church;
  • Understand, teach, and act consistently with the mission, philosophy, objectives, policies, and procedures of the Archdiocese of Denver;
  • Implement a grade-appropriate instructional program following the Archdiocese's curriculum, including lesson planning, classroom setup, and assessment of student performance;
  • Collaborate with the 4th and 5th-grade teaching team;
  • Provide extended or enrichment opportunities appropriate for the grade level;
  • Maintain state licensure;
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians, colleagues, and the principal;
  • Engage in all Archdiocese in-service and training programs, as well as local school-sponsored professional development unless exempted by the principal;
  • Attend all mandatory faculty and staff meetings unless exempted by the principal;
  • Collaborate with the principal and staff in school-related meetings, activities, and projects;
  • Ensure a safe, orderly, and secure learning environment;
  • Follow established protocols to guarantee the safety and welfare of students;
  • Perform teaching duties and any other responsibilities assigned by the principal.
