Job Overview

At AST, we are dedicated to enhancing the effectiveness, productivity, and safety of flexible aseptic manufacturing processes within the global Life Science Industry through our innovative offerings.

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Service Engineer Lead to oversee our service engineering division. This role is pivotal in ensuring the delivery of exceptional service to our clients while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and mentor the service engineering team, ensuring that all members are equipped to meet their objectives and provide outstanding service.
  • Design and implement strategies to enhance service delivery processes, improve operational efficiency, and boost customer satisfaction.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to identify technical challenges, escalate issues as necessary, and ensure resolutions align with service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Conduct performance evaluations, offer constructive feedback, and develop training plans to elevate team capabilities.
  • Serve as a technical expert, assisting team members in troubleshooting complex issues and devising effective solutions.
  • Stay informed about industry advancements, emerging technologies, and best practices in service engineering, recommending innovative approaches to improve service delivery.
  • Utilize AutoCAD drafting software to produce detailed electrical schematics and layouts for panel construction.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot PLC ladder diagrams, sensors, pneumatics, mechanical assemblies, and other machinery components.
  • Engage in hands-on assembly and disassembly for equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Draft comprehensive operations and maintenance manuals in accordance with design specifications and equipment.
  • Participate in the installation, startup, and testing of machinery at client facilities.
  • Oversee electrical and controls installation and supervision at client sites as required.
  • Conduct machine testing, experiments, and debugging activities to ensure compliance with project specifications.
  • Execute factory acceptance testing with documented outcomes.
  • Manage project timelines and budgets while documenting tasks and results with moderate oversight.
  • Maintain accurate technical records, test results, and documentation to support design and performance history.
  • Estimate the time required for task completion.
  • Fulfill engineering responsibilities within budgetary and scheduling constraints.
  • Follow directives from the Engineering Manager and Senior Engineers.
  • Promote AST's commitment to Continuous Improvement across the organization.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% based on business needs.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years in service engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership capacity.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Isolators and Automated Aseptic machinery.
  • Demonstrated success in leading teams to achieve goals and deliver high-quality service.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating effectively with diverse teams and conveying technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
  • Robust problem-solving abilities and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
Eligibility Requirements:
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must be willing to undergo and successfully pass a drug test.
