The Service Technician plays a crucial role in the delivery, installation, servicing, and maintenance of Martin wear components and products along designated service routes. This position collaborates closely with the sales team to uncover potential sales opportunities within the service area. The primary objective is to enhance service performance, thereby improving customer satisfaction and retention while also boosting profitability. This is an hourly position with commission potential, requiring travel, including occasional overnight stays. The hourly wage ranges from $25 to $37 based on experience and location.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver, maintain, install, and service Martin products as assigned, adhering to standard operating procedures while ensuring safe and efficient work practices.
  • Maintain continuous communication regarding project status with supervisors, colleagues, and clients.
  • Efficiently complete assigned tasks, including maintenance agreements, within the designated territories.
  • Document daily sales transactions and maintain accurate records.
  • Follow prescribed routes and schedules as directed.
  • Ensure that the warehouse and vehicle are consistently stocked, organized, and well-maintained, including conducting weekly inventory checks.
  • Operate the vehicle safely, complying with all traffic laws and Martin's Fleet Policy, as well as adhering to DOT regulations.
  • Prepare quotes and reports for Martin customers concerning all serviced conveyor products, with additional reporting as necessary.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work environment, following all safety regulations and inspecting work areas regularly.
  • Propose improvements for service routes and processes to enhance efficiency.
  • Conduct training for assigned personnel to ensure compliance with quality, safety, operational, and technical standards, while adhering to OSHA/MSHA safety regulations.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; a two-year technical or vocational degree is preferred.
  • A strong background in mechanical or conveyor maintenance is advantageous, along with one or more years of relevant experience.
  • Sales experience is a plus.
  • Must be at least 21 years old and meet driver qualifications as per position requirements and federal DOT regulations.
