POSITION SUMMARY:

The Marine Service Operations Supervisor works under the guidance of the Marine Manager. This position is responsible for overseeing and directing daily activities of the team in the Marine Service department within a retail environment, ensuring effective management of inventory, service operations, warranty processing, rigging, delivery, detailing, and parts management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assists the Marine Manager in meeting the financial objectives of the service department, focusing on Service and Parts Sales, Gross Margin, Inventory Control, and Payroll Management.
  • Provides daily leadership and guidance to the service team members.
  • Organizes and assigns all service, rigging, and warranty tasks; ensures timely completion of work orders to meet customer satisfaction.
  • Strives to enhance team productivity consistently.
  • Maintains a safe, clean, and secure work environment.
  • Commits to delivering exceptional customer service, ensuring a positive shopping experience for all patrons.
  • Collaborates with the Marine Manager to recruit customer-focused team members; participates in the hiring process, coordinates training, and provides input on performance evaluations; prepares weekly schedules and motivates staff to foster a positive team environment.
  • Addresses customer and team concerns in partnership with the Marine Manager.
  • Assists the Marine Manager in organizing special events, including promotional activities.
  • Manages and verifies the accuracy of inventory and parts records.
  • Ensures timely submission and processing of warranty claims.
  • Guarantees that products are properly detailed and deliveries are conducted in a professional manner.
  • Supports the Marine Manager in fulfilling other supervisory duties in line with company policies and regulations, including interviewing, training, planning, assigning tasks, evaluating performance, and maintaining a respectful workplace.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience: 2-4 years in the Retail Marine industry or a related field; supervisory experience is advantageous.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Ability to perform calculations related to discounts, commissions, and percentages.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze various reports.
  • Ability to effectively communicate information and respond to inquiries from management, team members, customers, and the public.
  • Ability to conduct meetings and presentations for groups.
  • Proficiency in PC-based software for word processing, spreadsheets, database management, and inventory systems.
  • Strong interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, customers, and corporate staff.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Regularly engages in computer work, walking, and standing.
  • Occasionally sits and lifts items weighing up to 50 lbs.
INDEPENDENT JUDGMENT:
  • Performs tasks within the framework of general company policies and objectives. Analyzes issues and conducts needs assessments. Utilizes judgment to adapt guidelines to achieve desired outcomes. Regularly exercises independent judgment within accepted practices and makes recommendations that influence policies and procedures.
